Helping Pupils Reach Their Full Potential

uX2 works alongside teachers to empower pupils of all abilities to reach their full potential. Our positive, relatable military-style programmes have been proven to enthuse, energise and engage children, enabling them to acquire skills and enjoy experiences that stay with them for life. Our mission is to encourage strength of character, resilience and positivity under pressure, while celebrating individual successes and ensuring every participant goes away with a huge sense of achievement.

Developing Skills For Life

Our programmes are beneficial to pupils of all ages and abilities, equipping them with key skills to help them negotiate life’s challenges more successfully. We focus particularly on teamwork, leadership and communication, as well as boosting pupils’ confidence and resilience, and teaching them to recognise the importance of respect and self-discipline.

Re-Engaging Pupils

Our tailored programmes can also support teachers to reduce disruptive behaviour and promote social and emotional wellbeing. We can really make a difference to pupils who lack confidence or self-esteem, have difficulty making friends, display challenging behaviour, or who are generally falling short of what they are capable of achieving.

Inspiring Instructors

uX2 instructors are all serving and former-serving members of HM Armed Forces. We are committed to acting as positive role models, and our military background often incites a greater level of respect from pupils than is shown to other figures of authority, which gives us a unique advantage in communicating with them.

Overcoming Challenging Behaviour

We find that students who don’t engage in the classroom often come into their own when removed from that environment and encouraged to participate in practical group exercises, both as leaders and as part of a team. We regularly see pupils gain in confidence and develop a sense of self-worth as they realise that they have a valuable contribution to make, even if they are not academically inclined. This frequently translates positively back into the classroom with improved performance, attendance, concentration and behaviour.

Personal Development

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

We demonstrate the importance of clear and precise communication, as well as the value of listening. Through our programmes young people learn to become more effective communicators.

RESILIENCE

Our activities encourage young people to develop a level of resilience that will help them negotiate the challenges they encounter in school and throughout life.

MOTIVATION

We boost desire to succeed by showing young people that they can overcome limitations and achieve anything if they work hard. We also hone their initiative, so they can recognise what needs doing without being asked.

TEAMWORK

We provide opportunities to work as part of a team and to step up and lead others. We teach young people to be loyal and committed to their team and expect them to treat one another with respect and courtesy at all times.

LEADERSHIP

By encouraging young people to act as leaders in practical group activities, we raise their confidence, boost their morale and instil a sense of self-worth.

SELF-DISCIPLINE

Throughout every activity we emphasise the importance of good timekeeping, attendance and being someone that others can rely on not to let themselves or their team down.

SELF-CONFIDENCE

We show young people that they can conquer their fears and achieve things they never thought possible. Individual achievements are recognised, celebrated and rewarded at every step.

RESPECT

Our instructors teach young people the importance of treating themselves and others with respect at all times. Often, those who wouldn’t normally mix come together and bond through their shared sense of achievement.

Programme Structure

We offer tailored programmes for individuals and groups, with options for both school-based and off-site packages. There is no ‘one-size- fits-all’ programme, as we always adapt what we do to meet the needs of the particular school and pupils.

Activities are all based on military exercises, but adapted to make them appropriate and engaging for young people while developing the key areas of communication, resilience, self-motivation, teamwork, leadership, self-discipline and confidence.

From 2020 we are introducing an exciting new support service for schools in certain catchment areas. Our Positivity Centres will provide off-site re-engagement programmes for students who are disrupting the classroom and affecting their peers’ learning. School-Based Programmes

Our instructors can work on-site at your school to support a range of specific needs, from managing behaviour or getting pupils active through to providing practical activities that supplement the school curriculum. Working with numbers from small groups to an entire school, we will work with you to develop a programme that delivers your goals within your time frames and on budget.
We have also worked with schools for their Activities Week and on Transition Days for the new intake of year 7s. As long as you have an outdoor area we can make it work.

Off-Site Programmes: Day and Residential Camps

Working away from the classroom can often be hugely beneficial to students, and it also allows us to take the training to another level. We can provide off-site training in a variety of beautiful and inspiring locations, both in the UK and abroad. These programmes provide children with vital life skills – including first aid, basic life support and survival skills – while boosting self-confidence and resilience.
These can be single-day or residential programmes with accommodation available for up to 250 young people at a time. From 2020 in certain areas we will also be offering Positivity Centres: ongoing off-site support for young people who are disengaged and disruptive in the classroom. Please contact us to find out if this is available in your area.

Results

The results we see are incredible – even with children who are unenthusiastic or disengaged to begin with. By the end of our programmes pupils consistently show vastly improved behaviour, a renewed determination to succeed and the belief that they can achieve anything as long as they try hard and don’t give up.
Our schools programmes are all underpinned with a unique, robust reporting system that enables us to give you tangible feedback on the progress your pupils are making. Please contact us to request a sample of our STAR reporting tool.

what people say about us

St MartinsC of E Primary School

The work you have been doing with our Year 5 children has had such a positive impact, and all the children really enjoyed it. It was great to see them being so responsible and pushing themselves to be their best. I've been very impressed by your instructors’ belief in the children and how well the children respond to their expectations.

Personal Best Education

I have recently been extremely fortunate to collaborate with uX2, who delivered a fantastic residential programme to 15–17 year olds undertaking their NCS programme. The experience was second to none and taught valuable life lessons that the young adults can use in the foundations of their future. I sincerely hope I can work with these guys again!
