UX2 Alternative Provision
UX2 has been working with young people since 2013, we are now pleased to be able to offer Alternative Provision to many schools. With an increasing number of students having SEN including SEMH, we are pleased to be able to work with them, building their self-confidence and life skills and supporting their re-intergration into the classroom.
focusING on the development of key skills
12-week programme
Our structured 12-week programme runs in line with term dates and encompasses the core curriculum subjects of maths, English and science. Our enhanced curriculum focuses on the development of key skills including confidence, self-discipline, resilience, motivation, communication, teamwork and leadership.
We take guidance from each young person’s school on the areas that they need specific support, and we ensure we give extra focus to these key areas during our activities.
Using our STAR report we regularly monitor individual progress, celebrate successes and record outcomes.
Time and time again our programmes have been proven to enthuse, energise and engage young people, while teaching them skills and giving them experiences that stay with them for life. We find that students who don’t engage in the classroom often come into their own when removed from that environment and encouraged to participate in practical group exercises, both as leaders and as part of a team. We regularly see pupils gain in confidence and develop a sense of self-worth as they realise they have a valuable contribution to make, even if they’re not academically inclined. This frequently translates positively back into the classroom with improved performance, attendance, concentration and behaviour – which ultimately improves the environment and outcomes for everyone in that classroom.
